INVESTING FOR THE FUTURE

Highland has invested in the future of its powder coating operations with the installation of a new automatic powder coating booth.

The new equipment, from Gema in Switzerland, is the top of the range in automated spraying technology. Featuring ten auto spray guns and a manual gun, the booth ensures the best use of the raw materials, with exceptionally little waste powder.  With full automation, the booth automatically measures the incoming steelwork, and sets itself up precisely for each jig of material. Self adjusting spray nozzle pattern, distance, charge voltage and airflow,  results in higher quality.

Production Director John Macintosh said, “This new booth allows our people to reach a high quality level, while improving productivity, and all without the constant need to adjust the settings. It does it all itself”.

Company Chairman Gordon Bulloch commented ” The company is well placed for future work, at improved quality levels as a result of the quarter million pound investment. Our shareholders are firmly behind the commitment of the directors to guarantee that the company will meet all future needs for Colourgalv.
