Who Are We

Highland Galvanizers was established in 1978 when the plant was built in Elgin to provide hot dip galvanizing services for the growing oil and gas market in the North of Scotland.

The business soon developed a reputation for high quality service that led to rapid expansion of the customer base covering steel fabricators working in a wide variety of industries including agriculture, construction, renewables, engineering, fencing, street furniture and general fabrication.

Our History

The sustained growth and success of the Elgin operation enabled development of the Highland Group in April 2002 with the building of Highland Colour Coaters in Cumbernauld.

Operating under the trademarked name of “Colourgalv,” Highland offer the only “one stop shop” for powder coating on galvanized surfaces in Scotland.

The strategic location, development and in-house expertise of this facility has enabled further extension of our galvanizing and specialist powder coating services, such that our geographical reach covers the whole of Scotland and the North of England.

Sustainability Promise

The objectives of sustainability and the preservation of the environment are, understandably, a major focus in today’s society.

The Highland Group believe that the benefits which emanate from the long term corrosion protection afforded by galvanizing, and further enhancement by powder coating will play a vital role in achieving this and as such are committed to continued growth and development of the business in a way that fully embraces these objectives.

Our Team…

The Highland Group now employs in excess of 100 people, the majority of whom work in our factories carrying out the galvanizing and powder coating processes and without whose hard work and dedication the business could not have prospered as it has done over many years.

Equally, our experienced support staff with an unrivalled level of commitment towards providing first class customer service, in all respects, have played a vital role in this success.

The members of our Board, who combined have over 125 years of service with the Group, also bring a huge amount of experience and qualified expertise to ensure that the best service is provided and the highest standards are maintained.
